Get in on the Chase

Look to the skies as 25 balloons will paint the sky as they launch daily at 7:30AM and 5:00PM (weather dependant). Conditions must be ideal for the safety of balloon pilots and the late September weather provides the most dependable conditions. Grab a few friends or the family and get in on the chase. You need one responsibly focused driver and one or more navigators. Bring your sense of adventure and follow the pilots as they drift from coordinate to coordinate.

 Getting Around During Balloon Festival

High River is a great place to visit any time of year. Make the most of your trip and check out some of the many Town attractions. We expect very high traffic volume and the Town has limited parking - but there are many ways to get around and experience all that High River has to offer. The best viewing area for the Balloon Festival is at the launch area on Macleod Trail. From there you need to follow the balloons.

  • Stay the weekend and experience the full Festival

  • Park & ride during Balloon Glow for $20 (bring cash)

  • Walk the Happy Trails to get around Town

  • Bring your bikes and ride through Town

  • Carpool with friends . If you are participating in the chase - you will need at least two of you - one responsible driver and one savvy navigator.
